I've always done my NES music in Nerd Tracker :/
The other programs are too complex and have too many settings to play with, it's a little overwhelming. Nerd Tracker is simple and since its controls are global, I don't have to waste time syncing tracks together, since all it takes is a single keystroke to start all active instances playing at the same time.

Like Stryker said, it's difficult to find good mixes of this song. And I know FF is difficult to remix.
I like what you've done, I think it sounds clear and nice :)

Although I also think it's lacking something. I don't like some notes... but it's just me probably.
The song is great overall, keep it up ^^

Most likely what you think it is lacking is the vocals that are usually with the song...

At least,that's what I'm thinking,because that is the only thing I can think of in the original.

We need more FFT music, it's one of the best games in history!

I think this work is pretty good, but it's lacking something... IDK if it's instruments' clarity... There's something missing, something that makes this special. It's pretty cool anyways, but maybe keep that in mind for the next one :)

I think know what you mean. I'm not going to be doing anymore video game mixes for a while. This was just practice. Anyway, I was learning how to tweak certain samples to sound a certain way. Thanks for your input, but this song is gone. Too much zero bombing in the beginning. The next one will be a classical piece I believe. Hope to see another review.

After hearing some of your other work, I know you can do better than this. It sounds really MIDI-ish... (the instruments). Also, there's too much reverb in some parts and that creates a bbbbzzz sound on those parts D:

Aside from that, it's an excellent song, one of my favorites from the game. ^^
Well, take a well deserved rest, and I'll wait for your great song for your return (I hope it's FF :)

Does sound MIDI-ish indeed...

I think some of the notes are not completely right (mostly at the beginning). because sometimes it depends on the instrument's pitch. Did you take all the notes by yourself or did you use a MIDI ?

Also, the tempo is rather slow which I don't like too much...
And yeah, it sounds MIDI-ish.
Nice effort, although I think you could do better!

No I don't take this wrong, it is very good constructive criticism (the only kind it like). I did all the notes myself, I just didn't spend too much time on this one like I did with my other songs. The music engine that I used for this song is a little hard to figure out, playback goes faster than recording, that might be why it is a little slow (but that no excuse for me) but thanks for the constructiveness.

WTH is wrong with those 2 ?

The song is not bad. It certainly wasn't one of my favorites from the game... but this rendition is not bad. It's ridiculous to review with a 2 IMO.
If KT made the notes on his own, even better. I work by ear, it's kinda difficult (specially Nobuo songs) but it's fun :)

thats how i do it.. i used to be able to read music once upon a time but now i just listen and try my best to immulate... like i said im missing a good program. :P i dont think Garageband is all that lol. FL is the best program out there. that i dont have.

It reminds me of how great that game was :)
It had pretty cool music. The only complaint I have is that bosses were awfully easy.

You use FL Studio right? Those drums and the triangle are kinda recognizable XD (I work on FL Studio). Nice instrument choice ^^ Those kind of bells or whatever are really good.
